The New York Forward Festival returns this fall!

Founded in 2015 to celebrate the 70th birthday of legendary multi-instrumentalist and improviser Daniel Carter, the New York Forward Festival has grown into an international celebration of creative music. With 20 editions across the US, Africa, and Europe, the festival brings together acclaimed and emerging improvisers for unforgettable performances rooted in collaboration, spontaneity, and community. Returning to its home base in Brooklyn this fall, the festival continues to honor Daniel Carter's enduring legacy while celebrating the boundless possibilities of experimental music.
