This year, we're proudly celebrating 25 years of building community through the arts.

Since 2001, we've brought people together through grassroots music events that began in Brooklyn and grew into festivals, performances, workshops, and cultural exchanges across the United States, Africa, and Europe. What has remained constant throughout those 25 years is our belief that the arts bring people together, strengthen communities, and create opportunities for meaningful connection.

Today, that work continues through Forward Sounds Foundation, our 501(c)(3) artist-led nonprofit organization. While the Foundation is new, it represents more than two decades of community-building, artistic collaboration, and cultural exchange.

We support musicians, dancers, poets, educators, and students through artist residencies, festivals, educational programs, and our public podcast. Whenever possible, our programs are free or low-cost because we believe everyone should have access to creative experiences.
